Be A Difference Maker

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep…Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” Genesis 1:1-3

Our Heavenly Father, the author of heaven and earth, the Giver of life, was the greatest difference maker. God saw a world that was without form and empty and He became the catalyst for a change. He brought life and order to a world that was void of life and order. Not only did God caused a change, He also impacted the world by adding to it and increasing it (He created living things and provided all that is needed to sustain life). That is our Abba Father; the Maker of Heaven and earth, and we possess the gene of our heavenly Father.

Genesis 1:27-28 - So God created man in His own image…Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

You are created and ordained to impact your world for good. You are created to be a difference maker in this world. Humanity must count it a joy and privilege that you walked the surface of the earth. God created you to be a person of affluence and a person of influence. His will according to Genesis 12:1-3, is for you to be blessed in all things, and that you grow and become a blessing to all people. Growth is a very crucial determining factor in your ability to impact your world. As a matter of fact, impact is the product of growth. Our Lord Jesus makes this clear in the parable of the mustard seed. Luke 13: 18-19 - Then He said, "What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches."

Growth is of paramount importance for a better, happier and harmonious life. A life that is free of tension and strain, fear and anxiety. Like the mustard seed who after it had grown into a large tree, had a great impact on the birds of the air. Likewise, the more you grow and increase, the greater your impact will be on others. Isaiah 49:6 says; “Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that you should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give you as a light to the Gentiles, that you should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.”

In order to live as the difference maker that God has created us to be, spiritual and physical growth is a necessity in life. Spiritual growth is the process of getting rid of wrong thoughts and beliefs about who you are and growing to look at life and circumstances from God’s point of view. And physical growth is the process of getting rid of negative and limiting habits, and letting the inner man shine out in order to be fruitful and productive in life. Jesus said, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples” John 15: 8. When you are fruitful and productive, God is glorified, and when God is glorified in your life, you will have a positive impact on your world.

Friend, I encourage you to give growth a chance in your life. Refuse to be stagnant. Be the river that God flows through to impact the world. Grow daily in your knowledge and understanding of God. Be a source of inspiration and blessing to humanity. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Mathew 5:16.
