Benefits of Divine Guidance

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:7,13.

The Holy Spirit is here to teach, lead and guide us into all truth. All believers have the Holy Spirit but not all believers know He is their helper. The Holy Spirit is the performer of God’s acts. He brings order to chaotic situations. Jesus Christ was able to fulfill His mission on earth because He understood the importance of the Holy Spirit and engaged His help in every decision making. Jesus Christ knew how crucial the Holy Spirit’s help will be to us that he talked about it before He left this earth.

Galatians 5:25 says; “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”. That is; “If the Holy Spirit lives in you, let Him direct you.” But the flip side of the matter is that He will not impose himself on you without being asked. God’s desire for every one of his children is that we willing surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

There are many things you stand to gain when you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in every affair of life. Psalm 23 reveals benefits of His Divine Guidance:

Divine Guidance guarantees divine provision (Vs. 1). When God is your Shepherd, He will provide for all your needs – spiritual, material, physical, financial. Philippians 4:19.

Divine Guidance guarantees divine rest (Vs. 2). When you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, He will guide you into all truth and give you rest spirit, soul, and body. Mathew 11: 28

Divine Guidance guarantees divine restoration (Vs. 3). When He is allow to lead, you will not suffer any loss. Instead, He will restore all your wasted years and everything that you had lost in the past. Joel 2:25-26

Divine Guidance guarantees divine peace and confidence (Vs. 4). With Him as your guide, you will enjoy divine peace and confidence. The peace of God that surpasses all understanding that the Holy Spirit gives is not the absence of trouble, but it is in the confidence that He is there with you always. He said “I will not leave you nor forsake you” and He is still faithful to His word. Philippians 4:6-7

Divine Guidance guarantees divine security and protection (Vs. 5). When you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, He will shield you from all the evils of the world. You will not be subject to the uncertainties and instabilities of this life. Psalm 91:1-16

Divine Guidance guarantees divine promotion (Vs. 5). When you humble yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to guide, God will promote you. He will teach you how to be increasingly profitable and productive in all that you do. James 4:10
